A Girl Named PJ

going to the movies + friday favorites

March 9, 2012

My parents are coming to Omaha this weekend, which means that Levi gets to spend some quality time with his grandparents and JB and I get a break! Perhaps we’ll even go on a date Saturday night. Dinner and a movie? Or maybe we’ll just combine the two activities; JB and I used to love to eat “dinner” at the movies — splitting a large bucket of popcorn, some candy and a soda. (Don’t judge.)

I can’t even remember the last time we went to the movies, and I just realized that I have no idea what’s currently in theaters. If The Artist is playing locally, I’d still love to see that. But I’m also open to your recommendations. What have you seen — and liked — recently?

Before I share some of my favorite links from around the web, I want to thank all of my friends and readers who’ve inquired about Levi’s health. This weekend I also hope to find some time to write a blog post about his test results. I can only get so much done in the 2 or so hours I have free between Levi’s bedtime and when I fall asleep!

Not sure I have the patience to make a homemade bath bomb, but as a former Lush employee, I know how incredible they are!

PS: I’m considering making some changes to Bunny & Dolly, aesthetically and content-wise, and may ask you to answer some questions for me. I hope you’ll be game! To start, do you enjoy posts like this one that links to products and articles that I find interesting?

I remember the last time you went out… it was the last time I got to love on Levi! Dan is leaving again soon and I would love to get together with Levi again after he leaves. Also you should go to Midtown Crossing for Cine and Dine! it is fabulous!

    Miss you guys!

I would love to know what he is thinking here…

Enjoy your time with the hubs! Hoping for some of that myself in the next week. As far as posts go, product reviews aren’t my favorite but I’m always looking for tried-and-true recs from other moms, so I definitely read them, fwiw!

Sorry to hear Levi has been sick. I gave up Twitter for Lent and that’s how I usually keep you with you guys. I hope you had a great date night!

Day 12 | No photos from today (well none worth sharing) because I sat in front of my laptop from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. working on deadline. My busy work day also meant that my kids didnt get very much of my attention. My husband kept them occupied for some of the day but I dont think they got any schoolwork done. Oh well we all deserve a lazy day every once in a while. I know I do! | So whats this photo? Just some of the amazing birthday presents I received from my friends this weekend! Asa had a full-on temper tantrum because he didnt want to color his drawing of a rainbow and nearly lost his cool while practicing Typing Club. I wish I could do more educational activities with them like taking alphabet walks and tallying up different items around the house but Im totally overwhelmed with a huge deadline this week. Not sad about anything specific. Just ... sad. Cabin fever? Exhaustion? We decided to get out of the house to look at the cherry blossoms in Bethesda. The Kenwood neighborhood was quiet so we parked and walked down a side street keeping our distance from the few other people out and about.
