A weekend with the grandparents + Friday links

Mom and Baby in Pumpkin Patch

Happy Friday, friends! I’m so excited for the weekend. My parents will be in town, and we’re going to take a family field trip to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch. Levi was only two months old when we went last year — look how small he was! — and too young to do any actual pumpkin picking. I’m looking forward to taking him on a hayrack ride out to the pumpkin field and letting him explore. Vala’s also has a small petting zoo with goats to feed that I think Levi will really enjoy, too.

Selfishly, I’m happy my mom and dad will be to help out with Levi, who’s been coughing up a storm these past couple of days. Teething plus a cold equals one fussy toddler, and his recent 5:45 AM wake-up calls have only added to his crankiness. They’ve also made me one tired mama, and I could use a little R&R. Thank you, grandparents!

Here are some links from around the web that caught my eye this week:

  • How to not suck at Instagram (PS: Do you follow me? My username is @pjfeinstein)
  • I want to try this pretty side ponytail
  • In a case of extraordinary timing, JB and I bought Bananagrams last weekend!
  • Would you hang a canvas print of an Instagram photo on your wall?
  • I love pesto, and this version looks delicious

Oh my gosh, he’s so itty bitty there! I’m sure it will be very fun to go again and watch him explore. Have a great time.

Bananagrams is so fun! I predict that you are going to be (or are already) amazing at that game. And what a little munchkin Levi was! I was so annoyed when people said this to me when Lorelei was first born, but they really do grow up so fast…

Day 12 | No photos from today (well none worth sharing) because I sat in front of my laptop from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. working on deadline. My busy work day also meant that my kids didnt get very much of my attention. My husband kept them occupied for some of the day but I dont think they got any schoolwork done. Oh well we all deserve a lazy day every once in a while. I know I do! | So whats this photo? Just some of the amazing birthday presents I received from my friends this weekend! Asa had a full-on temper tantrum because he didnt want to color his drawing of a rainbow and nearly lost his cool while practicing Typing Club. I wish I could do more educational activities with them like taking alphabet walks and tallying up different items around the house but Im totally overwhelmed with a huge deadline this week. Not sad about anything specific. Just ... sad. Cabin fever? Exhaustion? We decided to get out of the house to look at the cherry blossoms in Bethesda. The Kenwood neighborhood was quiet so we parked and walked down a side street keeping our distance from the few other people out and about.
