A Girl Named PJ

First day of school printables for all ages

August 24, 2015

First day of school photo! Time for preschool! | A Girl Named PJ

And just like that, our summer is over.

Levi’s first day of his new preschool started today, and happily, there were no tears at drop off. I’m sure that attending an open house yesterday morning so Levi could familiarize himself with the classroom and meet his teachers and classmates helped quell some of fears, but he can also be a pretty brave kid.

I can be a pretty brave mom, too. No tears for me either!

Of course, Levi couldn’t start preschool until I took a couple of photos to memorialize the big day. To make his first day of school photos a little bit more fun, I printed out this free back-to-school sign from Pars Caeli.

I’ll admit I was only partly surprised to hear Levi reveal that he wants to be a builder when he grows up. I mean, I know he loves Legos and tools and construction vehicles, but I had never actually heard him say the words, “I want to be a builder.” It was pretty cute.

I wrote about a whole bunch of first day of school printables and props over on Cool Mom Picks. Head over there for the links to download this back to school sign and others.

Where do you take your annual first day of school photos? When I was growing up, we always posed in front of the same spruce tree next to the driveway!

My mom would always take my brother and I’s back to school photo in front of our front door, lol. Good memories! I like the idea of the printables!

Day 12 | No photos from today (well none worth sharing) because I sat in front of my laptop from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. working on deadline. My busy work day also meant that my kids didnt get very much of my attention. My husband kept them occupied for some of the day but I dont think they got any schoolwork done. Oh well we all deserve a lazy day every once in a while. I know I do! | So whats this photo? Just some of the amazing birthday presents I received from my friends this weekend! Asa had a full-on temper tantrum because he didnt want to color his drawing of a rainbow and nearly lost his cool while practicing Typing Club. I wish I could do more educational activities with them like taking alphabet walks and tallying up different items around the house but Im totally overwhelmed with a huge deadline this week. In fact I had to keep working after the kids went to bed and now its nearlyC-Quarantine Day 8 | Ive felt anxious many days this past week but today was the first day I had the blues. Not sad about anything specific. Just ... sad. Cabin fever? Exhaustion? We decided to get out of the house to look at the cherry blossoms in Bethesda. The Kenwood neighborhood was quiet so we parked and walked down a side street keeping our distance from the few other people out and about.
