White walls: stressful or energizing?

March 18, 2014

Tan from Squirrelly Minds is taking over the blog today while I’m on a brief maternity break!

There’s something about Scandinavian design that sets my heart a flutter with its crisp lines and bright white walls. Sadly, this style will not be a part of my home.

While I feel white walls simultaneously calms and brightens a space, my husband feels stressed out and as if he’s in an institution. Others feel the same way, believing white walls to be clinical, basic, and void of emotion. I disagree.

Sure, an all over white space might feel a bit clinical, but when paired with warm wood tones and bright colors, it can be energizing. White is the perfect backdrop for making furniture, art and accents stand out, and just always feels oh so Scandanavian, which is a good thing in my books.

What’s your take? Do white walls scare or energize you?

Having this exact conversation with my hubby at present. I’m all ‘white on white on white’ and he’s, ‘what, like in a hospital?’ Ha ha. I am hoping I win 🙂

Happy to have at least one kid willing to stand in front of a random mural and smile for the cameraDiscovered a new-to-me fruit at the @westsidemarket in Cleveland: #Rambutan. They look like the offspring of a strawberry and those spiny brown balls that fall from trees but I have no idea what they taste like. Have you heard of them? Eaten them? Im so curious! Are you still in a food coma from last night or have you moved on to leftovers already?Grateful for these silly turkeys (most of the time)
