The big schlep
Except for a detour en route to the airport in Omaha, our trip to New Jersey on Monday was uneventful. In fact, it was practically ideal: my mom, the boys, and I were bumped to Economy Plus, Asa slept nearly the entire flight, and we landed 45 minutes early. We had a short wait at baggage claim, but all eight of our suitcases and both car seats found their way back to us.
Getting settled
Now, four days later, a few bags still need to be unpacked and some furniture needs to be rearranged. I’ve had my hands full taking care of both boys (grandparents are not built-in babysitters) and haven’t had much free time to work or connect with friends yet. I’m counting things becoming easier when JB arrives this weekend (he’s driving from Omaha with a U-Haul of “necessities”) and we can co-parent again. Life will also feel more manageable once we find a Montessori school for Levi to attend. I’m even considering sending him to a full-day program instead of mornings only like he had been doing, although I’m slightly concerned about an abbreviated nap time. On a good day, the kid can sleep for three hours — or longer. But on a bad day…
A look ahead
I know the blog has been pretty quiet the past couple of weeks, but I hope you’ll continue to stick around. I have a full calendar of exciting and informative content to share with you this month, including a home tour, potty training tips, and new music picks. And I’d love to hear from you: What topics would you like me to start covering on the blog? Please don’t be shy! Let me know in the comments, on Facebook, or via email.

Congratulations on making it back to your home state! I’m so thrilled you’re on this side of the world and I hope that it means we can see each other more often. 🙂 Good luck with finding the right school for little Levi. xo
