Thanksgiving printables to entertain the kids (and keep them out of the kitchen)

November 23, 2015

Round up of Thanksgiving printables on A Girl Named PJ

Thanksgiving has always been a pretty low-key holiday for my family. The dress code is only slightly more formal than elastic-waist pants, and a tablecloth is usually the extent of our decor.

As for family activities, we used to attend the high school football game before eating our traditional Thanksgiving lunch. Now that we’re grown up, we still eat turkey, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, and cranberry sauce in the early afternoon, but we’ve replaced morning football with an afternoon viewing of The National Dog Show before dessert. (Team Bichon Frise!)

Since there’ll be three kids under four at my parents’ house this year, we probably need to plan some family activities other than being lazy in our comfy clothes. Like downloading a bunch of Thanksgiving printables to keep the little ones entertained (and out of the kitchen).

For my latest Cool Mom Picks column, I’ve rounded up my favorite Thanksgiving printables, including coloring pages, craft projects, and decorations. Check all of them out here and then come back to let me know which you’d print for your Thanksgiving gathering.

PS – Last-minute Thanksgiving decorations that’ll add a festive touch.

Day 12 | No photos from today (well none worth sharing) because I sat in front of my laptop from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. working on deadline. My busy work day also meant that my kids didnt get very much of my attention. My husband kept them occupied for some of the day but I dont think they got any schoolwork done. Oh well we all deserve a lazy day every once in a while. I know I do! | So whats this photo? Just some of the amazing birthday presents I received from my friends this weekend! Asa had a full-on temper tantrum because he didnt want to color his drawing of a rainbow and nearly lost his cool while practicing Typing Club. I wish I could do more educational activities with them like taking alphabet walks and tallying up different items around the house but Im totally overwhelmed with a huge deadline this week. Not sad about anything specific. Just ... sad. Cabin fever? Exhaustion? We decided to get out of the house to look at the cherry blossoms in Bethesda. The Kenwood neighborhood was quiet so we parked and walked down a side street keeping our distance from the few other people out and about.
