Emmy nominations 2014 + link roundup

The 2014 Emmy nominations were just announced, and as an ardent TV fan, I have a few issues with this year’s line-up. Take the comedy series category, for example. Are The Big Bang Theory and Orange is the New Black really competing against each another? The former is a conventional sitcom with a laugh track, while the latter is a character-driven dramedy. There’s no comparison!

And why isn’t Brooklyn Nine-Nine on the list of nominees for best comedy series? It was this year’s Golden Globe winner and one of the funniest shows on television.

Speaking of Emmy snubs, how was Tatiana Maslany overlooked for her roles (plural) on Orphan Black? We just started watching the BBC America drama after finishing the second season of Orange is the New Black, and I’m already hooked. Have you seen it?
