This weekend my dad scanned and emailed old photos of my grandpa pulled from our family photo albums. It doesn’t really feel like he is gone. Because we lived so far apart and I only got to see him a couple of times a year recently, it feels as though we are simply in between visits. It hasn’t sunk in that I’m actually never going to see him again…
These photos made me smile, though, so I wanted to share them with you. Plus, isn’t fun to revisit the fashion and decor of our childhoods? The first three photos were taken in the 1980s. The top two were snapped in our kitchen. In the first photo, my mom, wearing red and holding my little sister, is younger than I currently am. Isn’t that bizarre?!
The third one down was from one of my gymnastics birthday parties. See the balance beam? I’m loving my grandpa’s corduroy sport jacket.
Finally, the last photo was taken in 1990 at Camp Blue Ridge in Pennsylvania. It was my first summer at sleep away camp, so the whole family came up on Visiting Day!
Thanks for letting me indulge in this trip down memory lane!

Love the CBR pic PJ!! Too bad camp looks nothing like that anymore.

I don’t even understand how camp would work nowadays. I’m assuming all the kids have iPhones with email. Do they even have to write letters home anymore? And there’s a pool now?!?
