Eggnog is one of those polarizing foods like licorice, mayonnaise, and Brussels sprouts that people either love or hate. Personally, I love it, and every December, I look forward to buying a quart of the traditional holiday drink. But, without fail, it sits in the refrigerator until mid-January because my husband won’t touch it (and I can only drink a small amount at a time).
I was worried I wouldn’t be able to indulge in eggnog this year because I’m pregnant, but luckily, commercially manufactured eggnog is safe to drink during pregnancy because it’s made with pasteurized eggs. Phew! Still, I’ll probably enjoy it in moderation because I’m a worrywart 😉
You can’t go wrong with straight-up eggnog in a glass (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), but there are more creative ways to enjoy eggnog this season. Here are 8 eggnog recipes to try for the holidays!
Homemade eggnog using cardamon instead of cinnamon
Eggnog cookies with eggnog glaze (plus white chocolate chips!)
Eggnog baked oatmeal (with stovetop and crockpot variations)
Holiday spice cake with eggnog buttercream
Eggnog cheesecakes with gingerbread cookie crust
PS – Why not enjoy your eggnog with cookies or polka dot cake?
