There’s no denying any longer that my belly button wants out. My former innie is not an official outie yet, but it’s getting more and more shallow. I think it’s just run out of room in there! Early on, JB told me that he would be totally accepting of my changing body… except if my belly button popped. He was convinced that a new outie belly button would freak him out.
Boy is he going to be shocked when he returns in a couple of weeks! My body has changed dramatically in the last 7 weeks, and I’m sure it will look completely different than it does today upon his arrival.
In other news, I developed a new pregnancy side effect this week: leg cramps. The searing pain of my first ever charley horse startled me awake, and I literally jumped out of bed screaming. I would have scared the crap out of JB if he were home. The following night I was woken up by a charley horse in the other leg. As you can imagine, I was nervous to go to sleep the next night for fear it’d happen again. Luckily, I haven’t had another charley horse… yet. (Knock on wood.)
At this week’s OB/GYN appointment, I was measuring 33 weeks. Previously my measurements were corresponding exactly with my weeks, so I was surprised by this sudden growth. Does this mean that I’m going to deliver early?

Such a great blog! I too had charlie horses with my pregnancy with Adria. Try bananas….they say potassium helps. Feel good!

Thanks, Sonia! I haven’t tried bananas yet, but I have been attempting to drink more water. I heard that dehydration can also cause leg cramps.

While I may be surprised, you still look unbelievable – outie or not!

Raisins are a GREAT supplier of Potassium as are baked potatoes and yogurt. When I was pregnant with PD my diet consisted of bananas and yogurt… bad news is… I still get the leg cramps even 3 years after having him. It is amazing how your body is forever changed after you have a baby… on an upside, I agree with JB… you still look unbelievable!
Oh and measuring big doesnt effect the delivery date, but will cause you to have a “larger” baby. At this point you are too late in your pregnancy to have you delivery date change too much. But you are at the point that you could go anytime now. Keep your legs crossed and keep that baby in till the very end! You are doing GREAT!!!

Raisins: Eww
But I had no idea potatoes had potassium. Good to know! And this baby better not come til his due date (give or take a couple of days). I’m not ready for him yet!

Hi PJ, While I don’t mean any disrespect to JB,he or any other man who doesn’t want their pregnant mate’s bellybutton to pop out, doesn’t know a GOOD THING when they see it!!!!! To me a pregnant belly that has a large jutting outie bellybutton emerging from it is ONE BEAUTIFUL SIGHT!!!!!!!!!! That skintight blue shirt you’re wearing is really NICE because it allows your bellybutton to poke through and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JB needs to get over it and LOVE and APPRECIATE what he’s got!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
