Today I’m 32!
Thirty-two seems so old when I consider all of the things I still want to accomplish (personally and professionally) and then start comparing myself to other bloggers who seem to have amassed so much success despite being younger. Sometimes I don’t give myself credit for what I’ve already achieved, though. Are you the same way?
I suppose the upside to getting older is that you also become wiser. I definitely know more about being a mother than I did a year ago. I definitely don’t have all the answers, but the learning curve is not quite as steep as I had feared back then!
On a lighter, sweeter note, doesn’t this homemade Momofuku Milk Bar birthday cake look absolutely delish? I’ll never make it because the recipe intimidates me, but I can almost imagine what it would taste like: a gourmet version of my favorite Funfetti cake. Mmm…
PS: Happy birthday to Reese Witherspoon, who turns 36 today!

Happy birthday back at ya! And thank you so much for your sweet words about my blog. How very kind of you!
Kelly
Mine, too! It’s a great day to turn 32!
Man, I remember when 23 seemed old…
PJ
What a coincidence! Hope you had a fabulous birthday, Kelly!

The video of Levi scooting is hilarious. Lu is in the same boat. She sort of does the army crawl, pushing herself along with her toes. What’s the big deal with remotes. They all seem to love them!
Happy Birthday, and remember this: Comparison is the thief of happiness.
I heard someone say that last week in an interview on NPR or something. It just really hit me, because, well, it’s the truth, pure and simple. So remember it.
Secondly, I give myself lots of credit for the things I do well. If we don’t, who else will, right? All I know is that my life gets better every year, and it’s proving to be full of blessing … which sometimes I have to make a point of looking for. Be sure to give yourself plenty of pats on the back for what you do well.
32 will be a good year.

I love that quote–thanks for sharing! I’m definitely going to try to pat myself on the back more frequently for accomplishments big and small.

Happy birthday! As someone slightly older (but not terribly wiser!) I encourage you to focus on the positive (easier said than done, I know, I know). Hope you had a great day!
Claudia
I’m a little late (sorry about that) but I still wanted to wish you a happy 32 🙂
