The one thing you won’t catch me wearing after Labor Day? White pants . . .
. . . but that’s only because I don’t own any.
“No white after Labor Day” is such an antiquated fashion rule. I actually like the idea of winter white jeans, but I’ve never found a flattering pair that isn’t a little bit see-through. Plus, I know I’d be paranoid about food stains each time I sit down to eat with my kids.
However, I’ll continue to wear my white Converse sneakers until my toes crave the warmth of boots with socks. Chuck Taylors look better with cuffed boyfriend jeans and chambray shirts than they do with shorts and tees, anyway.
So I hereby give you permission to keep on wearing your white sneakers after Labor Day. But if you crave a change after kicking it in white kicks all summer, head over to Cool Mom Picks for my roundup of DIY sneaker makeovers, including these studded Converse from A Beautiful Mess.
Would you wear them?
PS – How to keep white jeans clean (for those of you who are braver than I am).

Agreed – we can wear white all year long if we want, darn it! 🙂

To keep my jeans white, I learned this year I minimize the detergent and skip fabric softener all together. Instead I use vinegar. It’s been a huge change! Also, if you’re looking to avoid see thru, try Paige or Joes. When they have a good sale, I find those to be the best!

First, I never use fabric softener. I’ve heard that it leaves a film on clothing that could make them more susceptible to stains (at least, I think that’s the reason I stopped using it.) Second, talk to me about vinegar. How much do you use? Do you mix it with the detergent? Do you only use it for white clothing?
