Today’s giveaway is from a new-to-me line of jewelry and accessories, Towne & Reese. I first learned of the brand at the Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker Workshop; attendees were each gifted a Lila necklace in their choice of color. I’ve been wearing my triple-strand mint beaded necklace all around Omaha these past few weeks and getting tons of compliments!
Before we get to the giveaway, I’m excited to introduce you to Christi Pack, co-founder of Towne & Reese. Christie’s also the mother to two young children, making her the perfect candidate for our AM/PM series!
AM/PM chronicles a day in the life of busy mothers to explore how all different types of moms juggle their responsibilities — from stay-at-home moms to moms who work full time outside of the home. If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “I don’t know how she does it” about another mom, read on!
Q. Tell us a little bit about your children…
A. Towne is 5 and Weston will be 2 this weekend. Towne is all girl and loves everything that has anything to do with princesses or that is pink or purple! Weston is 100% boy and runs circles around all of us. He loves any kind of ball, and is ready to join his sister on the soccer field.
Q. Let’s talk about work…
A. I started my career in advertising but always had that entrepreneurial spirit. Towne was a year old when Towne & Reese was born. What I’m doing now is definitely my dream job. I feel very fortunate!
Q. Walk us through a typical work day… What time do you and your kids wake up?
A. We’re not morning people – I’m such a snoozer. We push it to the last possible minute and usually wake up between 7:00 and 7:30 during the week.
Q. What does your morning look like?
A. Because we enjoy our sleep, we are usually running around trying to make up for that last snooze! The kids will eat breakfast (usually eggs and fruit) at home, but my husband and I are usually eating on our way out the door.
Q. What time do you eat lunch?
A. Usually around 12:30 or 1:00.
Q. What does your afternoon look like?
A. Emails, meetings and then more emails. Some afternoons I leave early to take Towne to after school activities – soccer and gymnastics.
Q. What time do you eat dinner?
A. We usually eat around 6:30.
Q. What does your evening look like?
A. From the moment we get home until 8:00 when the kids go to sleep, our evening is about them – playing, eating dinner, bath time, story time, etc. Once the kids are down, I may jump back on my computer for a little bit, but I try really hard to make the next couple of hours about me and my husband – sometimes that’s easier said than done.
Q. What time do you go to bed?
A. Too late! 11:30-12:00.
Q. When life gets hectic, what tasks or responsibilities are the first to get dropped?
A. Working out! It’s something that I really enjoy and keep promising myself that I’m going to get better, but when things are crazy, it’s always the first sacrifice I make.
Q. What do you most look forward to doing on the weekends? Do you ever do any work on the weekends?
A. Spending quality time with the family! The work week is so hectic that I enjoy every second of a non-planned weekend. We love walking to brunch on Saturdays and stopping off by a playground on the way home – we try to be outside as much as possible. I usually do work on the weekends, but I try to do it during nap time and never on Friday night. Friday night is my night!
Q. How do you de-stress when you’re feeling overwhelmed?
A. Walks and fresh air make all the difference in the world for me. If I’m able to step away, the big things overwhelming me before don’t seem as big when I get back.
