If I had extra money to spend, here’s what I’d want to spend it on this month…
High-tech hair tools: I’ve been trying to enhance my hair’s natural wave (really, curl) with some fancy flat-iron work, but I can’t seem to nail the technique. The Beachwaver Pro curling iron and TYME iron both look like they could get the job done with less effort on my part.
Boho chic bracelet: Navy with golden flecks, lapis is one of the prettiest gemstones. It also has healing properties that resonate with me: According to the American Gem Society, lapis can alleviate insomnia and depression and create openness, truthfulness, and creativity. I love how the deep blue gemstone looks when paired with rose gold in this easy-to-wear toggle clasp bracelet.
Better than BB cream: I’ve never gotten in the habit of wearing foundation, but my mid-30s skin could probably benefit from a little bit of coverage. I’m dying to try Complexion Rescue from bareMinerals, which they claim offers the best of a BB, CC, and tinted moisturizer in a sheer “gel cream” formula.
Toe-tapping taupe: I think these Jeffrey Campbell open-toe booties are from a previous season because Nordstrom is only offering them in one size — and lucky for me, it’s mine! With their 3-inch heel, they’re not a match for my everyday style, but they’d be the perfect transition boot for spring. Plus, I can probably make them tight enough for my super narrow feet with the criss-crossing laces in front.
Constellation art: Although I have some personality traits of Pisces — imaginative, sensitive, secretive, and compassionate — my March 22 birthday officially makes me an Aries. The perfect addition to my newly decorated basement office, this inky blue and white zodiac print is a reminder that I’m also adventurous, quick-witted, and courageous (and sometimes selfish and impatient) like a ram.
Stylish sunnies: I haven’t owned a pair of sunglasses other than my beloved Ray-Bans for a couple of years, but I wouldn’t mind adding this pinkish nude pair from Banana Republic to the rotation. The shape is similar to what I currently wear, and the color would be a fresh change for spring.
Textural throw pillow: Neutral yes, boring no. This Margo Selby pillow cover was basically hand-loomed for my living room. My only concern would be keeping Briscoe, King of the Pillows, from claiming for himself. Dog claws and textural home accessories don’t mix.
